Join Jesse Ehrenfeld, MD, MPH, President of the American Medical Association (AMA) and a panel of experts who will explore two of the strategies outlined in AMA’s HIV, STIs, Viral Hepatitis and LTBI Routine Screening Toolkit designed for community health centers and emergency departments: forming a strong referral network and hiring or assigning current staff as patient navigators. Panelists include: • John Carlo, MD, Chief Executive Officer, Prism Health North Texas • Cabell Jonas, PhD, Director of Research Programs and Research Scientist, Mid-Atlantic Kaiser Permanente Medical Group • Lesley Miller, MD, Medical Director, Grady Liver Clinic Routine screening and early detection of HIV, STIs, viral hepatitis and latent TB infection are critical for the health of our communities as these infections can have an asymptomatic stage which may prevent individuals from seeking the testing needed. Routinely screening for these infectious diseases can effectively identify these infections creating opportunities for treatment and prevention.
