Hallie Prescott, MD, MSc

Dr. Hallie Prescott is an Associate Professor in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at the University of Michigan and a staff physician the Ann Arbor Veterans Affairs Healthcare System. She works clinically in the medical intensive care unit and outpatient pulmonary clinic. She is an internationally recognized expert in sepsis management and outcomes. She serves as co-chair of the Surviving Sepsis Campaign Guidelines and physician lead for the Michigan Hospital Medicine Safety Consortium’s Sepsis Initiative. Her research program on sepsis management and outcomes has been funded by NIH, VA, and AHRQ, and she has authored over 150 publications.

Megan Cahill, DO, FACOEP

Division Chief of Medicine, Henry Ford Health – Macomb. Dr. Megan Cahill earned her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Michigan, and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is a trained emergency medicine physician and is now the Division Chief of Medicine at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, where she led the hospital sepsis program as a physician champion.

Michael W. Fill, D.O., F.A.C.E.P

Emergency Physician, Henry Ford Allegiance Health Emergency Department; Medical Director, Jackson County Medical Control Authority. Dr Michael Fill is board certified in Emergency Medicine and practices clinically as an Emergency Department Physician for Henry Ford Health in Jackson, Michigan. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is the current President of the Michigan College of Emergency Physicians, the current Councilor for the State of Michigan representing the American College of Emergency Physicians, and the Physician Champion and Chair of the Henry Ford Health Jackson Hospital Sepsis Committee.

Errin Couck, BSN, RN

Clinical Quality Facilitator, Henry Ford Health. Errin Couck received her BSN from Oakland University’s School of Nursing. She is the HMS Sepsis Abstractor for Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. She is responsible for sepsis data abstraction and is involved in quality improvement initiatives at her local hospital. Prior to joining HMS, Errin worked as a Registered Nurse on Henry Ford Macomb’s medical telemetry unit.

Erica Kaufman West, MD

Erica Kaufman West, MD, completed her undergraduate degrees at Valparaiso University in Indiana. She received her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. She finished her Internal Medicine residency and her chief resident year at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. She stayed to complete her fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the West LA VA/Cedars-Sinai/Olive View-UCLA Medical Center program. She has been working in the Midwest since then, focusing on acute inpatient as well as HIV/HCV outpatient care.
