Laura A. Hanyok, MD
Dr. Hanyok is as an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She currently serves as the Assistant Dean for Graduate Medical Education. In this role she leads efforts to promote well-being for the approximately 1300 residents and clinical fellows at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Hanyok’s previous leadership roles include serving as Director of Interprofessional Education for the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Dr. Hanyok is a practicing general internist at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and lives with her family in Baltimore.

Dr. Maureen “Mo” Leffler, completed her medical training at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by a residency in Pediatrics at Nemours/Thomas Jefferson University, where she proudly served as Chief Resident. She subsequently trained in Pediatric Rheumatology at Nemours/Thomas Jefferson University, where she remained as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Rheumatology. Currently, she serves as Chief Well-being Officer at ChristianaCare in Wilmington, Delaware. Dr. Leffler has a long track record of working to support GME wellbeing. As chief resident, Dr. Leffler was inspired by her own experience at the Leadership Skills Training Program for Chief Residents and subsequently contributed to the design and facilitation of a leadership curriculum, where she developed expertise in leadership development, group facilitation and physician well-being. Dr. Leffler officially joined the ACGME in 2016 as Course Director for the Chief Resident Leadership Training Program. In 2020, Dr. Leffler was named as the co-chair of the ACGME’s National Task Force on Wellbeing in responding to the COVID-19 outbreak. She and her team developed a national GME Wellbeing community, which continues to convene on a bi-monthly basis. Dr. Leffler served as the first Chief Well-being Officer at Nemours Children’s Health from 2020 until April 2024. In her role, she led the organization through an enterprise assessment of well-being, implemented a Peer Support program and expanded the scope of resources available to support the emotional and mental health needs of Nemours associates. In collaboration with organizational leaders, she supported targeted clinical team assessments and systems-based interventions to foster well-being for all healthcare workers. Recently, Dr. Leffler completed the Georgetown Executive Leadership Certification Program and looks forward to employing these skills, both as a coach and a leader.

Kyra Cappelucci Ng currently leads the American Medical Association’s practice transformation portfolio where she consults with health systems from around the country to provide meaningful data to support practice interventions that promote physician well-being. Prior to joining the AMA, Kyra helped develop and launch the National Academy of Medicine’s national Action Collaborative on Clinician Well-Being and Resilience, a consortium of more than 200 organizations committed to reducing clinician burnout and suicide. Kyra received her Bachelor of Sciences in Dietetics from the University of Maryland.
